Chinese Peasant paintings are created by Chinese farmers or peasant artists. Chinese peasant painting, as an art genre, first emerged in the 1950s and took shape in the 1970s. Now a few counties in China get national fame for their peasant paintings, like Huxian, Ansai, and Xinji, etc.
The characteristics of Chinese peasant paintings include: - The subjects are closely related to their daily lives, including farm work, festivals, village customs, harvest scenes, and family;
- Heavy and vivid colors;
- Exaggeration.
